New Revision Planned To The NIV Bible Translation

The NIV (or New Internation Version) is the most popular english translation of the Bible, as a result I imagine it is one of the (if not 'the') most sold books in the world - ever! (I think about 300 million copies have been printed).

There was a complete revision of the NIV (1984) with the publication of the TNIV (Today's New International Version) in 2005, however it has just been announced that a new edition of the NIV is scheduled for publication in 2011.

The website nivbible2011.com gives further details, and provides the opportunity to ask questions and give feedback. Below is the feedback that I posted:

As an english speaking Christian I have benefited greatly from both the NIV and now TNIV translations, however I do wonder if a new revision so soon after the recent TNIV is an unnecessary extravagance, especially considering that many languages in the world are yet to receive their first translation. Also, isn't it a misrepresentation to say that this is "the first update in a quarter century"?
